That sounds fun. I tend to lean into bleak but humorous scifi like Futurama where there are huge technological leaps compared to the current year but the gag is how mundane such wonders are treated.
So they're the bad guys then? Maybe you could write something about a hidden vault on the moon that they have to bust into but the "treasure" inside turns out to be a powerful bioweapon that they release and have to fight eventually? A kind of trick the players into doing the "right" thing kind of twist.
