The manga is full of donut steels. Technically, Daisy's father is one, since he's never actually appeared officially. At this point, I think it's far too late to introduce someone like that or even the Mushroom King, but it would be a nice change of pace. Then again Nintendo is the Disney of video games, and they have their own princess line to push.
