>I noticed the Sonic comics being basic with its themes is it editorial Sega or something else since other kids media is willing to tackle deeper themes
Ian: I think it depends on how deeply you're reading into it. I mean, is uh... I don't know how surface level is a zombie apocalypse. [laughs] Okay, so well obviously we're not going to get into like the more grim and pessimistic aspects of human nature in our brightly colorful animal book. But there is a degree of selfishness versus heroism. You know, there's that one refugee from Glass Hill who shows up knowing they're infected - like their last words are 'sorry, I just didn't want to be alone' and boop, everybody gets infected. Can you really blame them? Sure. But do you feel some sympathy for them? Also yes. And given the exhaustive discourse out of issue 50 alone, I don't think you can say that's just pure surface level. It is at least on my end built to be more generally accessible because this is a kid's book, but there's more to it if you want to dig.
