Any of Makoto Ojiro’s 3 main works (still waiting on her next series) are pretty damn good because she knows how to write her MCs helps and her romances flourishes naturally because of it. I lean more towards Ganta as her best male MC but Kanba is pretty close behind him (Gen is the weakest of the three but still has some traits I enjoy over the other two). Kanba particularly has great growth as he learns more about Fujiyama and learns to pace himself along with her when it comes to their relationship. He’s bold pretty often (especially in the beginning) but learns to respect her boundaries and let her set the pace. I think the hug scene you showed really encapsulated how far he’s come when he works to accommodate their height difference. It’s genuinely so sweet and really highlights that innocent, spirited and youthful love Ojiro loves to portray. Pretty much I would love to see her take on a romcom again after so long, especially with more experience, since Chion-san was mainly SoL and Insomnia was pure romance (with some drama).
