Alright, as promised, an idea for a redesign /character change. I find the mom looks kinda uninteresting and so thought, what if Wayne instead is a single dad. In the adventure setting, not the sitcom. Let's just say years ago his wife got eaten by a Spotted Space-Borrblovon on a mission or something of the sort. Gone. Perhaps the troublemaker he's after had tangentially something to do with it.
He's still doing the same stuff as in the original idea, but this alien lady (lets call her Vega, to be similar but different to the W-names, and with a bit of an intergalactic tinge) joins him, either through official channels or on her own due to similar goals. Design wise inspired by grey aliens, but yellow to be less dull a color, I felt there wasn't quite enough warm colors yet. Could also be green, but not like Lynx.
Went for "flesh" hair as most characters already have regular hair but completely bald would look out of place and unfeminine. Can still be styled a bit, it's not asari-like (simply visually funnier that way e.g. done up in an impossible big hairdo for one scene). Added that thing on her forehead to a) fill otherwise empty space and b) create a bit of similarity with the robot. Thinking she'd be a bit more posh than Wayne and brought the maid with her, the dot being a cultural thing of their entire planet.
Wayne and Vega's relation would be just friend/companionship (perhaps even professional initially), but as time goes on she falls head over heels for him which he isn't aware of. Would make for some romance and perhaps drama, but more in the background (it's a kids show afterall) with only few episodes actually focusing on it. Maybe the kids would find out and help her, but not before putting her through some amusing "trials".
General note, I don't like those wide rimmed shoes, it's alright on a guy maybe but especially on the lady it looks unproportional.
