technology either works well and is cheap, or its expensive and barely works. Keeping technology secret is not something they are trying to do. Look at all the cyber security issues. We figured out how to fly before we could drive. Technology is not linear. To be able to build the technology you want it requires the rest of society to build all the subsequent parts. Without that infrastructure and knowledge base the higher level technology can not exist. They can try to hide cutting edge shit, but its cutting edge and doesnt work well yet. At best "they" have a 5 year lead. This is basically common knowledge in military, corporations, etc... Once anyone sees something is possible it changes the entire mindset. Do you want to be a beta tester for a medical device? Hell no.
