Ironic, because SKG will lead to game updates being sold as even shittier sequels, since it forces all games to have an expiration date. So they'll just slightly change the game if it's selling well and sell it as a sequel in order to extend the expiration date by another year, or otherwise immediately have it removed off Steam once it expires and isn't lucrative enough for a second year.
There's no legal framework for how distinctive a game has to be from another game in order to be sold as a new product, yet it will add a legal requirement for games to be sold with an expiration date. Anyone who's above room temperature IQ knows what's going to happen. They're just going to call it Terraria 2.0, Terraria 3.0, Terraria 4.0 etc every year now. And yes, single player games will be required to have an expiration date too, because at some point new hardware won't be able to run the games as they were intended, so they'll have to be given an expiration date too, because the company cannot guarantee that it will work on future hardware and won't be able to provide support (ie. they went under)
