I feel the Sega style specifically calls for everyone to be the most overexaggerated Super-Deformed version so it could make the old cast look perfectly normal standing next to middle school children to keep the old cast from towering over them. Like picture how SD Rulue looks compared to Raffina, who should be a head shorter, in the Sega artstyle.
I don't know what else to call the Sega artstyle other than Super deformed. It's definitely not Chibi.
