gundam was never antiwar. sometimes it condemns war and human proclivity for conflict and sometimes war is necessary people can fight for the right reasons even if its a tragedy. gundam and newtypes more specifically are a realistic commentary on why people fight and understanding why people are motivated to do horrible things in war
