No matter where you go, you only ever see old people out and around. I can only imagine that the 20-somethings are sitting at home all day, due to a combination of being priced out of everything and there being nothing out there for them anyway.
Even if by some miracle you do see someone your own age, its socially unacceptable to approach them in any way. Sure, nobody wants to be stopped and talked to by a stranger when they're at the store or on the bus or something, but there are no longer any places where this IS acceptable.
How do you deal with everything being so socially dead? This is no way to live. Our youth is slipping away from us, and we are never going to get the chance to make use of it.
People over 30 need not respond.
