it doesn't use awkward stilted language like the ESV or just lazily grab the first lexical option out of BAGD like NASB.
it has over 60,000 notes that explain why the translators made the choices they did. you get insights into grammar, textual variants, cultural context, and theological nuance.
i'd also recommend pulling up constable's expository notes on the right panel, they have a slight protestant bent but i feel he does he a good job of fairly showcasing other interpretations within and outside of protestantism on passages and explaining which one is correct.
