Consistent gains with minimal risk come in the form of dividends but you need a whole lot more than 10k invested for dividends to pay anything meaningful. Also this right now is not a "dip".

You don't need any involvement with the markets to keep your credit in good shape. Just pay off that car loan and use your credit card(s) for monthly expenses, paid off every month so you never get dinged for interest. That's all I did and my goy score is over 800.
