You are assuming that only your brand of conversation serves any useful purpose. Research has shown that gossiping serves a useful purpose in improving society, as it can act as a moral check or balance in a community. There are many modern examples of this but I'll pick one that still affects all young girls/women: being labeled as a slut. Teenagers & young women are horny and want to fuck, but they must operate under the radar because if other women find out there's a good chance word will spread about their activities and they'll earn the reputation as a slut (low value woman who sleeps with anybody). To a vast majority of young women being known as a slut is considered having committed social suicide. Since the social peer-group is the most important thing in any 12-25yo woman's life, the fear they will be "found out" or be labeled a slut leads them to restrain themselves (at least publicly) from such activity. Likewise jealous/envious women who lie about other women being sluts will in turn become known as liars/drama queens and be avoided by others.

Just because what most women have to say doesn't interest us much, doesn't mean they are lower value.
