For me, it's the Sun and the Moon as the two ruling deities, and it's flipped from normal convention: The Sun is the Feminine aspect, the homestead, and the giver of light and warmth. Ishtar, while being identified with lunar symbology, has a rather high solar presence due to her being the Queen of Heaven. While Shamash is the solar deity of Mesopotamia, Ishtar takes on that role far better for me. While the Moon is the masculine aspect, the wanderer and seeker of knowledge, always delving into the darkness, Thoth takes that role. I suppose Ishtar is Midday and Thoth is Midnight, and that each hour is represented by a different deity forming the 12-hour cycles, with minor gods being assigned to quarters and minutes.
