I am speaking from the perspective of someone who would work at sega. take Ian for an example. he tried to stretch sonamy in a direction that makes it canon and in a direction that ends it. both attempts got nuked. They don't want Amy over Sonic and they don't want sonamu canon neither.
The writer of tmosh wrote a Shadow and Amy interaction that got approved by sega and got translated to Japanese. So it is doable. But it's not something that they will do.
