Because they also want more everything and actually getting to space in a meaningful manner means theoretical infinity more everything.

This anon fucking understands things. The chinks and poos are actively building thorium reactors right now. The second they get them online (barring kike geopolitical fuckery) "our" policy makers Aare going to shit their pants and start having a conniption fit as to why we weren't building ours since the 60's when we fucking invented them and proved that they work. (the reason we didn't is because our current style of reactor enables us to make nuclear weapons with them and thorium doesn't amongst several other geopolitical possibly kike related fuckery reasons.) But fusion if it ever stops being perpetually just 20 years away might kinda work the same way. Except unlike thorium it actually makes as much if not more nuclear waste than conventional high pressure fissile stack reactors if I understand the current tech as it is. So other than being at least as expensive as a HPNR it is not necessarily that much cleaner and only offers the advantage of the poors not being able to afford them and having to get their watts from BP/Exxon/etc... . The problem with that blackrock/haliburton monopoly man tier evil doctrine is that the second the cats out of the bag they will have to compete again and will always choose the cheapest solution. Personal opinion it's going to be thorium in our lifetime and maybe fusion in your non existent grandchildren's. TFW I was born too early to ride a small jury rigged man made sun superheating and ejecting xenon plasma at near relativistic speeds to harvest space rocks on the ass end of our solar system for galactic emperor Elon"s Brain in a robot body/AI clone. Feels bad man.
