I don't see much of Skystar or Jazzprowl because I don't follow any of the fans of this otherwise I might genuinely be annoying by it too. At least Megastar (not even actively shipping it) has a lot of fuel of different flavors depending on the series and it's in every series. Some pairings just feed off of one or two scenes for 30 years straight and were never particularly interesting to me in the first place.
At some point tumblr decided that Megastar is problematic and you saw much more Rungmegs and Skystar afterwards. The relative absence of the tumblr fandom is one of the reasons for why I only hang around on twitter since 2018.

Same. This is one of the reasons for why I liked CV so much. As you said, not really rebuilding, but close enough. At least we saw them buddying up after the war. Legends ended so well with the Megs/OP alliance (that looked like a marriage).
My taste is a bit fucked. I prefer more "mature" series that touch dark topics but at the same time I dislike edgy shit. The best TF stories are those with cool sci-fi/cyberpunky ideas and some serious content that avoid ever becoming outright dark. The current comic run is a bit too bleak too for my taste. Not bad, but boring despite all the action. But maybe that's just me.
