lx platform in general is super solid and benefits from having a nearly 20 year production run, they're easy and cheap to fix and very very durable. when i go to the junkyard i see mostly stuff based on mitsubishi or fiat designs. sometimes a neon or pt, most of the stratuses and LH cars of the new dodge era are gone now, but i still see them driving around pretty regularly.
but the lx cars, the only ones in the junkyards seem to be shit with the 2.8 like 1st gen 300s and magnums, cop or detective cars that have 6 gorillion miles, or bhph mules that met their end face first into a wall at 120 mph and still have bits of the driver inside. it is exceedingly rare to see newish challys or chargers even though other chrysler cars of similar vintage such as the Dart, FCA 200, and Journeys fill the junkyards. mine lived a hard life as a dallas-area rental car then i bought it at 100k more or less on the dot, and proceeded to drive it another 100k with only some minor maintenance and repair costs.
it is extremely rare to find a car that is reliable, practical, competently performant, and nice to look at inside and out, all in one package for a reasonable price. 30 mpg, 300hp, a zf8, 5 seats, 8 cupholders, and it has the road presence of a nuclear explosion. a v6 chally is absolutely the best deal in cars right now.
