Are the original parts better than aftermarket when it comes to mopar? Like if I wanted to change the ball joints even though there's nothing wrong with the handling, I always see Mopar replacements sold out or at more of a premium than moog or ac Delco, So I have this dodge with 150 miles on it, and I'm just dreaming of things I can change, but really I should trust in the Mopar quality itself. I think I just answered my own question.

in my experience while non-mopar parts will generally get you down the road you gotta be careful because there are so many variations of the parts sometimes. dee if you can find the exact part number and buy that specifically, preferably from a local place so you can actually see the part first.

While I see that advice necessary for classic cars, for me personally I have a durango and so I trust that most parts will fit although I've seen some mixed reviews on a wide range of components. I even got moog sway bar bushings and they were noticeably smaller than the originals. It's still a great car for what it is.

moog is one of those companies that has been stealthily reducing quality and i've noticed a lot of butthurt here and in boomer forums over it, just cause you got good parts this time, for this part doesn't necessarily mean they'll be good again.

It's big, but not massive. I have a Yukon XL as well so massive to me is relative. Because it's a coupe, it's low slung so it's not very tall which visually makes it somewhat sleeker. Like a Honda fit has a higher roof line.

It's good it's big, lots of room in front and back seats, and a huge trunk. A hellcat is genuinely a practical vehicle.

i have it wired under the carpet of the passenger seat and into the rear fusebox with an add-a-circuit stuck in the fuse point for the dashboard outlet, so that it turns off and on with the car. the armrest outlet is actually powered all the time and will drain your battery if you leave things plugged into it.
and yeah, it's fully configurable in brightness and color and can also be animated or react to music. i don't use those features much because of how distracting it is.

oh uh yeah here you go
use an ATM fuse tap and put it in the slot for the dashboard power outlet. this particular fuse point is actually a switch that allows you to set whether or not you want the dashboard outlet to be powered on all the time like the armrest one is, and should be the only ATM fuse in the box. put the fuse in the tap, and crimp the positive lead into it. put the tap in the rearward fuse position, then simply attach the negative lead to the negative battery post. i just stripped the wire and jammed it into the negative terminal while i push it over the post, but there are cleaner ways to do it. as for the wiring i ran it under the rear seat and into the B-pillar, down across the door sill and under the passenger seat.
there are 4 LED endcaps for this, kit and i put two in the armrest and the other two i ran under the center console up to the dashboard, behind the driver's kickpanel, and out at the steering column.

the limiter seems to be a regional thing and can also be changed or turned off with a custom order. challengers built for the southwest region seem to not have it.
https://fcagroup.my.site.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing
enter your VIN here and you will get a build sheet telling you who and where your car was built for and what every package on it is.
the info on my v6 reads "HIGH SPEED ENGINE CONTROLLER" which slyly means it has no limiter at all. it can also be easily disabled or changed with AlfaOBD.

>>28443527
the bushing for the center bearing dies to the heat of the exhaust and you can buy a $300 bearing clamp, chop the bearing out of its bushing and cut the original brace off the ds with a hacksaw, or just replace the ds with the newer revision or hellcat version which costs basically the same as a custom 1pc anyway. i've done both, did the clamp for my bro and put the 1pc in mine, and i frankly prefer the full ds replacement, it's a little easier and less messy. it also massively improves the torque response and feel of the car, especially when accelerating through corners, it doesn't twist or rubberband like the stock 2pc does so the 2.62 LSD it's attached to can do its best work.

Bigger than it should be, but it's only sedan-tier and not truck-tier.

It can be annoying to park at times. It feels compact enough while you angle it, but you don't have a rounded front end and you're always conscious of the front corners scraping other cars on your way in.

Wrong. The size is necessary for having plenty of interior room, 3 full back seats and a large trunk.

A muscle car is a large, practical vehicle with a big ass V8 stuffed into it. Mustang's and Camaro's are pony cars and are consequently smaller.

i really think this website completely misrepresents the cars visually because it doesn't show how wide the camaro is in comparison. look at the wheelbase difference instead of the body. it's really not much bigger than the camaro, with a different chassis aspect ratio.
the challenger's physical length is mostly plastic and empty space. if you park the ass of it up on the sidewalk, it's literally the size of a civic.

The Challenger has a 6" longer wheelbase than the Camaro and is 1" wider. That "empty space" is actually the interior room, trunk and larger engine bay.

The Challenger is not huge but is larger than the Camaro in a significant way, allowing for much more room.

the v8 chally is a nice car but they made it wrong, as a joke, to get the unbalanced, boatlike muscle car feel out of it. the lx platform was designed around the v6 from the beginning, so the v6 chally is indeed the ultimate form of the car, and potentially faster around the track than a hellcat, they just don't come out of the factory necessarily ready to do that.

yes i can because i am not a retard and i don't ascribe some mythical bullshit brand/segment/design philosophy godpowers to a car that just has high numbers in any one particular area without carefully analyzing the actual physics of the situation.
a super track pack v6 with some good tires will absolutely smoke a stock hellcat around a curvy circuit. i'm sorry it's true, the v6 PHYSICALLY handles better BECAUSE it has less power and better chassis balance, it can be driven closer to the limit and with more confidence, as exemplified by the GR86, the Hellcat Challenger, and the Z all being near each other in the rankings. the Pentastar Challenger has more power and better suspension geometry than the GR86, better balance than the Z, and it weighs 400 lbs less than the Hellcat. It has the same transmission as the Hellcat Charger that's up by the LITERAL SUPERCARS. That is a winning combination.

I'm not even sure what you're arguing about. Seating, trunk space and "plastic" is still part of a car's physical dimensions. Is a suburban not a very large vehicle because most of it's size is ""empty space""? When parking you can't just sperg and say "haha it's just empty space and plastic". The physical dimensions are still real and you will still hit other cars if you pretend they aren't.

>Is a suburban not a very large vehicle because most of it's size is ""empty space"

no because a burban is a genuinely big vehicle with a body on frame design and a very long wheelbase. even though a challenger looks larger, it's really the styling of it that gives the impression, rather than it being that much physically larger. the viper also achieves this effect.
for example the camaro's body is 1 inch less wide, yet the two cars have the same track width. the wheelbase length difference is 6 inches which also happens to be the same as the difference between the charger and challenger. the challenger looks slightly taller than the camaro because its roofline is bulged out for extra headroom like the durango. the plastic front and rear fascias are massive and contribute a whole foot to the car's length alone but they also make it extra durable and repairable, so yeah, you probably could park a chally by feel if you wanted to be particularly careless and likely get away with it.
the end result is the challenger drives like a much smaller car than it really is.

>>28446599
you can see by the graph at the bottom of the screenshot the cars really aren't that much different, but the pictures massively, wildly exaggerate the "9 inches" of length and 1 inch of height the challenger has on the camaro, probably because they are lazily photoshopped composites instead of actual orthographic views.
like you're literally gonna look at the challenger's entire roofline enveloping the camaro and tell me that's "1 inch" ? come on now. that website is fucked.

The Camaro is noticeably smaller. I don't know why you're sperging about it. Headroom, interior room, engine bay space and trunk space are larger, therefore the car is larger. The Camaro's trunk is 9.1 cubic feet, the Challenger's trunk 16.2 cubic feet. The Challenger is larger and that's good.

lx platform in general is super solid and benefits from having a nearly 20 year production run, they're easy and cheap to fix and very very durable. when i go to the junkyard i see mostly stuff based on mitsubishi or fiat designs. sometimes a neon or pt, most of the stratuses and LH cars of the new dodge era are gone now, but i still see them driving around pretty regularly.
but the lx cars, the only ones in the junkyards seem to be shit with the 2.8 like 1st gen 300s and magnums, cop or detective cars that have 6 gorillion miles, or bhph mules that met their end face first into a wall at 120 mph and still have bits of the driver inside. it is exceedingly rare to see newish challys or chargers even though other chrysler cars of similar vintage such as the Dart, FCA 200, and Journeys fill the junkyards. mine lived a hard life as a dallas-area rental car then i bought it at 100k more or less on the dot, and proceeded to drive it another 100k with only some minor maintenance and repair costs.
it is extremely rare to find a car that is reliable, practical, competently performant, and nice to look at inside and out, all in one package for a reasonable price. 30 mpg, 300hp, a zf8, 5 seats, 8 cupholders, and it has the road presence of a nuclear explosion. a v6 chally is absolutely the best deal in cars right now.

absolutely nothing but respect for clean '90s cars. there was a bit from like 1989 to about 1996 where even the shitboxes just looked like they rolled out of a syd mead painting. gorgeous. it's just a shame everything cool looking from that era is fwd.

there was also the Lamborghini Portofino which ended up donating its styling to the LH and JA cars. the 300m released in that time was originally supposed to be the Eagle version of the Intrepid, but when Eagle was shuttered that car became a Chrysler.
you can give Mopar all the shit in the world but when it comes right down to it they have a great track record of showing off the coolest concepts and then actually making cars that look like that, and they seemingly never give up when it comes to bringing new ideas to the market. mass-produce a lamborghini concept car? open wheeled 1930s t-bucket-inspired boomer cruiser? shaker hood? fuck it yolo

the difference between me and you is that you bought your car for the image. for the prestige. a porsche is a rich man's car, right? that's all you care about, that she makes you look fancy, like a well-dressed whore on your arm. you have a non-turbo 4wd because you are afraid of true RR and you don't have the skill to handle one. you seethe at me personally because you know this to be true, that you don't really love that car.

i bought this car because i truly love this car. i bought it with 100% intent, knowing full well what the reaction from here would be because having someone thump retarded ass v6 shitboxes was always an /o/ tradition.
i love the way she looks in the light, how the shadows lay on her body creases, the way her smug face is haloed by streetlamps at just the right angle, that she is simple and easy to care for, and i love that i have rescued her from an ignominious fate as a watermelon donk or worse. even at her worst people go out of their way to tell me how "rich" i look driving her. does anyone ever do that for you?

you, who is obsessed only with status, can never understand the love of a machine. you simply wear them like jewelry and throw them away. i don't even consider you to be the same species as me.

So fucking wrong it's not even funny. Not reading the rest when you start off with that dumbass assumption. Fucking old geezers. I don't own this thing to pull bitches, I'm happily married.

I think a company stubbornly putting an engine in the wrong place and making it work for decades is interesting. I love the way the engine sounds, the styling, how it's not a punishing penalty box to drive with weirdly angled seating or an overly stiff suspension. The company has an identity and they don't feel the need to reinvent the look of their flagship car every couple of decades (Mustangs and Corvettes come to mind). Enjoy your car for coalburners and their drug dealers.

see every car nowadays is just a blob. you look at them at night and it's just a mess of distorted reflections from every which way.
the challenger draws its own silhouette in light as it passes under streetlamps at night. it not just got a distinctive shape it has a shape that slices into reality like a knife. you see one and you know immediately what it is, and it has a shape that evokes not just itself but an entire generation of motoring, even chevys and fords and nissans all call out from its marble-hewn form. it's an absolute masterpiece of design. pure sex. and this absolute semen demon of an automobile is so pleasantly and modestly appointed and surely-made you have basically no excuse not to own one.
that's why any argument against this car has to personally attack its owner. you cannot actually be a red blooded human being and actually dislike this perfect machine, you're just ashamed to admit you do.
