i would assume it is a trend change, new generations of anime enjoyers cannot watch it if it is not overly saturated with colors and pointless movements, i am quite sure that to them that equals to quality animation, just input as many pointless frames, change camera angles and throw in epilepsy worthy amount of colors into frame and they will adore it, the fact that subhumans look at shit like reddit no frieren and scream woah best thing ever is where we are at as humanity
