well we all know toby made the mc of undertale genderless and ambiguously-raced on purpose so anyone could equally immerse themselves and paste themselves onto them

but with kris, one of the strongest aspects of the story seems to be figuring out the kid's identity and feelings and shit, and trying to at least get them to hate us as little as possible for the good ending maybe? and so far it's all 'them' stuff... but IMHO i think Kris literally just never told anyone or acknowledged its gender and for all we know has an actual gender (probably male with how kris dresses and looks imo, if we went with actual logic and not madness) but at this point if toby actually revealed that so much of the fanbase would implode and cancel him, so if it ever was in the cards it probably isn't anymore. i dont expect kris, even with full personality endgame, to ever even bring any attention to it and for the player to assume either kris is actually nonbinary OR just keeps that kinda thing secret for meaningful deep relationships and being ambiguous openly helps with the 'weird mysterious' vibe kris tries to portray. or something.
