I always thought the sith using artificial (and more powerful depending on the source) crystals to juxtapose the natural crystals the jedi use was a cool idea.

The crystal bleeding thing is an okay concept I guess but it feels a bit out there and is emblematic of the nucanon push to make lightsaber crystals more important than they were in the lucas/EU era, which I was never a fan of
