That's simply the universal touhou fan experience, everything else is an unfortunate side effect of finding ourselves spending precious moments of our lives in places like this.
I don't doubt that adding back some accountability to their actions causes people to drop the reddit personalities, even more so with the former v/hu/s that have maybe grown up a little, but I'm no saint either. Just trying not to butt heads much is all and it's less about targeted maliciousness and more general shit-stirring overall. I actually like seeing things get better.
