Talking to my mother about stuff. She starts telling me about one of her aunties and how she would occasionally live with them (and between my grandpa's other siblings) because never got married. She was a NEET who just got by on the income made from the rice fields she inherited from their parents. Just telling me about fond memories of her and how she always preferred to live with them over her other siblings. How she would look after them, tell them stories etc. Apparently she would get sick sometimes and my grandpa would pay for the hospital bills then just told him to pay him back she would give her portion of the land she owned.
Fast forward I'm in my mid 30s, never married, work min wagie jobs and live frugally. Live in my sisters backyard in a basic room that used to be a backyard office. Will my nephew and nieces consider me the same s my mother viewed her aunty or would they see me as a loser?
I currently have around $120k in my stock portfolio which I add most of my income to nowadays and around $150k sitting in cash. Think that and whatever everything ends up growing to is enough to pay my sister's family back with?
What are some other things I can do with my cash to build it into something?

>Fucked up in life
>Only worked min wage job for past 10 years cos it was comfy and people were good
>Things are getting shit and making me realise I probably need to move on
Is it too late for me to get into something like being a mechanic? Especially if I don't really know how to work on cars now outside of an oil change? I mean I like cars, recognise models, etc but never really knew the technical side of them. I'd be like 40 once I finish an apprenticeship

Where do I start and is a tech and IT job still worth it. Do I need to do formal University route or are there other methods these days to get certified for things
