yeah, that is INSANE. fuck that.
the problem with the law as it stands is that it is illegal to reverse engineer certain types of programming. companies should not be compelled to release source code or binaries. at the same time, they should not be able to pursue legal action against those that are reverse engineering their software/hardware after support is ended (or at all, really). that is the correct balance between private and consumer interests.
