You do not understand the vision of rise of the ronin.
There is no other game out there with an open world on this games scale that takes you across the 3 biggest cities in japan in a very specific period of japans history, while giving the player the freedom to heavily customize their character and use a wide array of not just weapons but weapon styles as well.

This is what Ronin ultimately wants to be. It is an open world Ronin simulator. Even if you want to claim sushi has a better open world or story or w/e the fact is in that game you are playing a samurai with one weapon melee weapon, your character is locked into a revenge story, and the world itself is very empty with very few settlements outside of copy pasted enemy camps. Way of the Samurai is the closest comparison to RotR, obviously, but again that game is not on the same scale nor is it's combat as good or has as much variety
