Most political debates boil down to:

vs
>Well I get my news from this OTHER network and they said the opposite
which then becomes both sides saying
>LOL you actually trust THAT news source over the one I trust??
There's almost no point to formal political debate because of this. Unironically 4chan style pol discourse is superior to institutionalized debate for advancing political ideas.
