Felt pretty disjointed but had a nice amount of character-building for basically everyone, and it was a lot of fun at the very least.
The intermission was fun but legitimately contributed nothing but "look how good our animators are" to the episode.
It also feels like the loose NPC thing is kind of tacked on. Like, it's nice that some actual plot is starting to hit the series as a whole, but I don't know, it feels like it could have been introduced better. Like, it just shows up at the beginning, is barely addressed, then appears at the end again.
If I had to rank all the episodes so far:

2 felt like the show was actually doing its own concept justice in all regards.
3 was just genuinely good.
4 was good but felt like there was a bit of wasted potential there, but I don't think it was expressly worse than 3, just good for different reasons.
5 was a mess, but had great character building
1 was okay, ish. Honestly it barely hooked me. I only really stuck with it because episode 2 was so damned good.
