Part 3 - Want to close in a bit more on the USA activity for shits and giggles.
Don't get scared of California, lol. If anything, this is a pretty light day for Cali. What IS notable in California, however, is the quakes at the converging point of the Juan De Fuca plate, North American Plate, and Pacific plate. I haven't seen much activity there since the 7.1 last year, and following aftershocks. So, we've got six today, I guess.
We actually had couple earthquakes on the New Madrid Fault this week, which is another scary one for the US. If that thing undergoes a full rupture, the Mississippi River gets blown wide open from the Gulf of Mexico all the way up the river. Yikes.
We're seeing a lot of our mountain ranges active. Not 'abnormally' (yet), but still worth nothing, when you factor in all the other global activity.
Now if we really want to make this /x/ worthy, this is where I can sound a bit crazy, but I'm a bit suspicious of just how perfectly aligned all the quakes in Nevada are. A 3.4 occurred there about 45 minutes ago now. DEWs are being used quite a bit more these days, and there's some oddball 'plans' I'm aware of in regards to future landscaping, we'll say. Keep that in the back of your minds.
