Recently I've been hiking with these (Redwings Blacksmiths). They're not as comfortable as my Oboz hiking shoes, but they're more solid and I prefer the high ankle to keep water and debris out over the increased cushion I get from my shoes. They also don't look gay/tryhard when I'm not on the trail.
