I didn't say he's a bad actor, he just doesn't fit Shadow at all. It doesn't work with the actual character.

Shadow isn't supposed to be old. His physical body is around the same as a 15 year old's (like Sonic's) and he has about 4 years of life experience. Four. He's seen less in life than Cream. Shadow has eternal youth, and no, he isn't supposed to sound actually 50. And Maria's not his sister.
Comparing Shadow to a veteran is how I know you've got absolutely no real grasp on Shadow's character.
