Before this, he had Top Gun Maverick which was the only thing noteworthy, and that flopped WW2 movie nobody mentions anymore because of his costar.
And well before that, he didn't have that much going for him other than being Chad something. Sure, Sydney's movie made bank (for her, not him), but it was awful as hell.
Twisters came after, a remake where he was not the main character. He has a couple remake projects lined up, Hit Man was awful as well and nothing original. If anything, Hollywood seems to be pushing Patrick Schwarzenegger to replace him if they have to.
