So seeing this trailer and hearing about it more closely aligns with the original story it confirms for me that the filmmakers 30 years ago understood how to adapt it for film and it wasn't to take The Most Dangerous Game but make it global, bro. This also confirms what most already know, the filmmakers today are wildly out of touch with their own industry and what the public want because something with as basic plot as this seems like a step back when you have products out there like Hunger Games adding layers beyond: down and out guy with a sick kid that needs money now but he can't work because reasons (he was selected by the corporation as a candidate, that's why he was blacklisted). It looks like a late 20th century action movie but with none of the charm, technical skill or charisma. The story seems to be massively dated, too. The only thing that could make the film ever so slightly interested is if they had the balls to be honest about why the white lead character is blacklisted from getting jobs in current year.

It's funny how he tried making it sound like he was struggling in Hollywood in the beginning, sharing an apartment with Chord Overstreet when his parents are pretty loaded (houses and estates) and are perfectly fine with babying him. I think it looks good. The book is fun but underwritten. I like some of the updates tech wise (drones and phones used as trackers). Its a silly tape system in the novel. There seems to be a lot more humour than the book. I just hope it takes advantage of the fugitive meets most dangerous game aspect of the book. There at least seems to be a lot of interesting action scenes. Sometimes you tell by a trailer that they only have two good scenes because thats all they can cut to.
