Japanese release schedules are not conducive to FoTM. People pick stuff up at different times, binge it and then it's waiting game until monthly manga release, yearly LN volume or who knows when author will get off the manuscript and post another WN chapter. It is almost impossible to maintain FOtM hype over "archive" stale content. Like are there good JP novels that have hundreds of chapters released? Yeah, but they won't be generating hype. Only new stuff is, which is what you see here.
Any anon that comes into the thread with
>Hey I've read 25 volumes of Wortenia LET'S DISCUSS
will have a few replies, but that would be it because people's impression of reading the series are spread out over large periods of time, not concentrated together. Sometimes new chapter/volume comes out and several anons read it at the same time, and briefly "shilling" of the series happens in this thread.
CN/KR stuff has different monetization model which is why almost every series has hundreds of chapters and new ones are bein shit out every day. It's more conducive to maintaining hype among readerbase.
Like look at Overlord. Was it hype? Fuck yeah. Where is the hype? Author 'ate it. When was the last volume? Almost 3 years ago now. Slave Harem Labyrinth? Monthly manga. You get the picture. Kinda hart to maintain FOtM hype like this.
Which is why we will see manmade horrors of JP publishers transitioning from dedicated manga artists to 'artist workshops' and webtoon format. Because they allow for faster releases and thus generating more clicks.
This might be sad, but it is true.
