Yeah some songs in English are really hard to understand, I even struggle with some and need to look up lyrics!
As for spoken Japanese I think I just need more listening practice, it's just hard to find good content to listen to that's slow enough to understand.
It all just takes time. Also congrats on understanding songs in English!
