Dave Mustaine Explodes On Stage Over Black Sabbath Snub, Confronts Fan
LONDON, UK — July 11, 2025
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine abruptly halted his band’s Wembley Arena performance last night after a fan’s offhand remark—widely believed to reference his absence from Black Sabbath’s farewell show in Birmingham—sparked a furious outburst.
Just as the band was launching into “Wake Up Dead,” Mustaine suddenly stopped playing, walked to the edge of the stage, and pointed into the crowd.
“Oh, you’re one of those guys,” he said, voice dripping with sarcasm. “Still hung up on that little Sabbath thing? Get over it. I didn’t go. Didn’t want to. Who cares?”
He paused, then added sharply, “You think I lose sleep over not being invited to a retirement party? I’ve got riffs older than half that guest list.”
The crowd was dead silent as Mustaine’s tone shifted from mocking to hostile. “Come on up here. Let’s see if you’ve got the guts to say it to my face. Or should we just throw you out now and save everyone some time?”
Security quickly removed the heckler as Mustaine paced, muttering, “Clowns like that don’t belong at a real metal show.”
After regaining his composure, Mustaine returned to the mic and snapped, “Anyway... back to something that matters,” before ripping into “Wake Up Dead.”
The incident comes during a rocky leg of Megadeth’s European tour, with reports of low ticket sales and at least two UK dates canceled quietly earlier this week.
Neither Mustaine nor his representatives have commented on the outburst.
