From what I can tell, the door supposed to work in theory. But with how large the pieces make up the body are, TT/Hasbro factory can't assemble them precisely enough to make the design work 100% of the times.

On my copy, the main 2 pieces that made up the body have 1mm gap between them and the door's tabs are barely 1mm themselves- they can't reach locking mechanism. They should have gone with a hard locking system or magnet.
Not going try to fix this. I did some works on Tidal Wave's knees. You can definitely tell whatever tools they are using in assembly; they can tighten the screws s lot tighter than most people can by hand.

Though, with how large the Titans are, without serious defects I doubt many people would double dips the same figure with additional improved functions.
Would people already have a version of Trypticon going to get another one if the new Trypticon gets swivel claws, proper integration with Siege Brunt, and better chest door while everything else is the same?
