you need school to learn how to read and write and maybe to get some vague facts around how to understand the world, which you can do in like 1-2 days a week at most. 5 day school weeks are psychotic and existed originally for the unironic purpose of breaking children's wills so that they could serve as mindless factory workers when they grew up.
although I think that today these long school weeks mostly serve the purpose of keeping the kids off the streets so that they don't start trouble everywhere. imagine if they were actually doing useful shit with the first 20 years of their lives instead of being extreme financial drains on everyone and everything and coming out of that lengthy process both ignorant and useless.
