nah the point is to pull some cheap drama, if the mangaka wanted to humanize them they would have been well rounded characters from the jump, not 2 dimensional fucks and only giving them a flashback JUST as they are about to die.

Maybe the mangaka should have made Nezuko a character instead, that would have been much better motivation than random cartoonishly evil demons getting sob stories just as they're getting killed.

It's funny how you're both complaining about the MC being a cook, making the idea of him defeating the ice kingdom not believable AND you're crying about muh training arc when that's the very thing meant to get him strong enough to complete the task. Hilarious.
