The demake was dogwater from the get-go.

>Beginning cinematic completely butchered
>Run from the parking lot to the town shrunk down to 1/3rd
>Yet introduces an obligatory "tutorial" segment to teach kids how to jump into windows and pick up items
>Town segment further shrunk
>Constantly throwing in "Remember this, fellow SH fans?? ;)" easteregg "memories" to annoy the actual fans, and to confuse nufags that don't know what they're looking at
>Jimbo literally chases a naked bloody guy into a blood-soaked hole in a random garage's door and then is instantly ready to pummel the first foe that now makes an ebin Cool Aid Man entry into the room

And this keeps going and going and going.
All the "dungeon" building sections are also now partitioned into clear "chapters", with VERY limited exploration aspects. Essentially you're given a puzzle / lock door (think the lock box in Hospital), then you get to go through a corridor-like loop A, which grants you access to the corridor loop B, then loop C, always cutting you off from the previous sections.

The "hints" to puzzles or "keys" to actual locks are always within the same room, or at very near vicinity, because ADHD zoomers would HATE to have to actually explore and map out an entire multi-floor apartment building, Hospital or old Mansion, exposing themselves to new threats while at it.

And when you're not doing babby's first Zelda dungeon crawling experience (tm), you find yourself being locked in tiny combat arena rooms, a la DOOM 2016. Because that's what psychological horror game all about depression and sexuality is all about!
