My father`s family are Germans born in the Russian part of the Soviet Union and deported to the Kazakhstan part during WW2. My father feels more like a Russian than German

My parents don't think they are Europeans, which i disagree. I myself identify with Europe and the European civilization but i admit the war in Ukraine and the conflict with Western Europe feels like a mental strain to me
