i wish there was a mod with a decent middle ground. the tundra is drab, but the forests feel so out of place especially considering whiterun is supposed to be a fortified city and so would have certainly logged the surrounding area to create a clearer field of view for defense (as well as to source lumber)
something with sparse, new growth/smaller trees and small pockets of density would be more interesting and believable. I think it should also be a lot rockier than those other forest biomes. the east siberian taiga has some good reference points

also making it another forest removes its distinction from the other forests in skyrim, namely falkreath and the rift
