Is the alternative starting point, and was intended as such by PA itself, who sprinkled in as many throwbacks to the older games as they could to entice people to play the older entries. Its flight model is way faster than the older games, though, especially thanks to high-G turns, and so I'd say to play the PS2 ones first to get your fundamentals in.
