How many cases are there of a fighter losing one engine and making it back?
Twin engine designs are often favored for supposedly having greater suitability but wonder how often it matters in practice. Engines are pretty sturdy until a certain point where damage becomes catastrophic. Seems more likely that if something takes out one engine, it is probably downing the aircraft. Especially when they are positioned so close together (which is ironically done because being close to the center reduces the performance impact of losing one). There was that time an F-15E crashed from inhaling a bird into one engine.
asn.flightsafety.org/wikibase/60314
>>528748565Growth potential shmowth potential.
>>528779046It's less about combat damage and more about one engine simply failing, which was not an uncommon problem in the 20th century.
>>528720257You underestimate the 15E and overestimate the 16XL, specially during the Dual Role Fighter Competition. Despite General Dynamic's hype and very optimistic predictions, during its initial testing phase and throughout the DRF Competition the XL failed to supercruise, even when clean. With an actual combat load it could not even get close to mach 1 without afterburner. It was only in the 90s, after NASA had modified it further, and equipped it with the more powerful -129 engine that it was able to sustain Mach 1.1 with military power, at 20k feet, and clean. Keep in mind that with the same -129 engine and above 25k feet the F-15E can also achieve that low supercruise, when clean.
If you're concerned about fuel economy, the basic F-16 is actually overall superior to the XL, because the XL is optimized for transonic cruise, but that requires the engine be run at military power. Meanwhile, the basic 16's much smaller wing area produces far less induced drag, allowing it to more comfortably cruise at subsonic speeds and medium engine powers than the XL can.
Speaking of induced drag, while the XL boasted a superior instantaneous turn rate over the F-15E, its large wing area and single engine meant it quickly bleed off speed compared to both the F-15E and the basic F-16. Most pilots prefer sustained turn rate over instantaneous, thus giving preference to the F-15E over the XL.
And while they never went anywhere besides fuel tanks with extra hardpoints, the 15 already had FAST packs that could theoretically make it even more versatile, with all sorts of extra sensors added.
So the XL had worse payload, shorter range, longer takeoff, worse sustained turn rate, no fancy gadgets, and no supercruise to make up for anything. Performance wise, the F-15E was the better choice.
>>528720257 >>528787856Two other factors that really made the F-15E the obvious choice over the XL were cost and time.
You bring up lifetime maintenance costs, but you forget to consider that the total lifetime cost of an aircraft starts before it's even built, with R&D and initial factory start-up being HUGE factors in total program cost. In both regards the F-15E was far more cost-effective over the XL. Owing to its unusual design, the XL had many issues that still needed to be worked out by the time of the DRF competition, and even as late as the NASA tests. For example, on paper it had a top speed of Mach 2.2 or so. In actual practice, it never got even close to that, because of issues with the elevons needed to trim the plane level at those speeds. Meanwhile the F-15D was already a tried and true platform, with only minor issues, so no further R&D was needed, and since the overwhelming majority of the E was already the D, you could easily convert existing production lines over for far cheaper than starting a new production line for the XL's larger fuselage and crazy new wings. This saved massive amounts of money and years of time.
There was no conspiracy to bury the XL or to favor MDD, the F-15E was simply and obviously the superior choice.
Seems /vg/'s moving fast today, did something happen?
>>528787856>>528789276>R&D costsFailed to consider that, I concede. However I still maintain that if they had been willing to pay those costs, and spend some years fixing those flaws, the resulting aircraft could have been better. Sure it's not a quick and convenient solution but it seems practical and effective for interdiction/strike role, would no-doubt be appealing to export customers, and most importantly, it looks so damn cool.
I just want to live in a world where my country doesn't have to burden our birds with CFTs, they look so sad.
>>528793897>spoilerWe have a solution to that
But these and those problems go away.
>>528789810>Seems /vg/'s moving fast today, wtf you talking about bro the thread DIED
>>528793897Well to be fair if other countries really wanted the XL they could have put up most of the funding cost for it like the Saudi's did with the F-15SA and they would have gotten XL built and delivered to them.
they really should go back to 3rd gen SOVL

you '''''NEED''''' more?
Dedicated ground attack aircraft still exist, they're just drones today
Does the Ace Combat story start of with the first game? Or is it one of those series where they only decided to take the story seriously a few entries in?
I'm considering doing a little marathon before playing 7 and was curious if I have to start from the first game or can maybe skip a few (Like skipping that one that takes place irl)
>>529010495timeline wise the order is: AC Zero, AC1, AC2, AC04, AC5 Arcade(Op Katina), AC5, AC7 Arcade, AC6, AC7, ACX and lastly AC3.
>>529010495Our usual suggestion is to start with the PS2 games in release order, both as an introduction to the setting and because they're well-polished. Regarding the others,
>7Is the alternative starting point, and was intended as such by PA itself, who sprinkled in as many throwbacks to the older games as they could to entice people to play the older entries. Its flight model is way faster than the older games, though, especially thanks to high-G turns, and so I'd say to play the PS2 ones first to get your fundamentals in.
>3 (JP)Has a very rich story, but is very far into the setting's future and a very different flight model.
>2If you squint, you can see some hints of things to come. The flight model is also similar to the PS2 games, barring stalling and flying at high altitude, so it's easy to pick up.
>6Has probably the best gameplay in the series, and expands on what's going on in the Anean continent. The in-game story is top-notch, while the cutscene story is a bit on the melodramatic side, but tolerable.
>>529010495>Or is it one of those series where they only decided to take the story seriously a few entries in?basically. The first couple of games are very barebones, 3 is very detached from the rest of the plot (until a bunch of connecting lines in 7 happen) and 04 is where it really starts, although there is a remake of 2 that makes it more story.

Hey there, buddies! The knockouts for /vg/ League 24 are starting today in 20 minutes, with /aceg/'s match happening in about an hour. https://cytube.implying.fun/c/vgleague

A close, low-scoring 1-0 win, but we take those! Now we're set to face /smtg/ in around 2 hours.
I have that funny thing an argentinian guy talked me about. If I watch the game we lose but if I miss it or willfully ignore it while not thinking about it I'm surprised by the good news of a win later.
>>529050706/aceg/ vs /smtg/ starting now!
And we had such a strong start.
Damn, just couldn't hold onto the lead there. Unfortunate end to our run, but at the least it went better than last League. Thanks for all who watched and supported, and lets hope the improvement continues on to next VGL, which will be happening around late November/early December.
Also, /aceg/ placed high enough to earn a rep spot on /vg/'s 4cc roster, for those who want to vote on that. I'll let the poll run for a day or so. https://strawpoll.com/GeZARp1A1yV

>>529072561It was a good effort and we got a spot, so that's still worthy of praise. Thank you for running the team, buddy, it's something amazing; thanks to you, we may see one of our own score in the 4CC.

I still find it weird how AC7, with all its plane packs and stuff never did the X-02A, hell its kind of a missed opportunity how we never got to see just some of them flying around as higher tier enemies in the base game or the DLC missions.
>>529131073Isn't the X-02S just the newer variant?
>>529131073I would KILL to fly the 02A, and isn't the plane under the tarps in 5 a Wyvern? Surely SOMEONE would've bought a squadron of them.
>>529135157I think making it into a two-seater and crooking its canards made it look worse than the A
I'm on a journey to the stealth dimension, I'll give whatever I need to give, sacrifice whatever I need to sacrifice, no matter the cost, in exchange of Stealthium, a completely radar absorbent material invisible to the IR spectrum. This will allow me to build stealth planes that actually look different and eye catching with the only downside of needing an internal weapons bay.
A bit late but room's up.
>>529172572Well room's over.
Two more days, buddies. Let's hope for the best.
Saw the final AC3 ending. It had a lot of vague parts and the tone was very different to the rest of the later series, but I liked it. I feel like I got lucky and chose the canon order (GR->Ouro1->UPEO->NEU->Ouro2) to see things, because it all flowed very nicely with gradual reveals.
I knew about Nemo from the start but the reveal with Simon and Dision was good.

One of the biggest things that intrigued me regarding AC7's 25th anniversary image is the Yuktobanian Su-57 skins in the background.
Why would it have unique Yuke markings at the bottom of the tail, why the low-vis emblem that is seen no where else?
Why a skin that is seen NOWHERE else at any moment? (It's not Ghost squadron's skin, it's the ace skin for the normal Felon, nor is it the 5th Gen Fighter's skin)
Not to say that Yuktobania is gonna be involved in the next game but it's like the single thing that's even a potential teaser

Fencer is a straight box whereas aardvark flares out at the waist before coming back in, tail design creates a gap between engine spacing unlike on the fencer. Doesn't mean an F-111 can't show up though so keep your dreams alive!
>>529368780The Raven is bigger, anyway.

>>529379365>>529394096It's not a case of Ace Comabt "almost getting canned," it's just that Bamco had the bulk of the devs on other projects, because "Project Aces" is just an internal name for whichever Bamco devs are working on Ace Combat at any given time and not an independent studio.
>>529394778Bandai Namco Aces have been their own internal studio since 2022-ish as far as I know
https://gamingbolt.com/bandai-namco-aces-established-by-bandai-namco-and-ace-combat-8-developer
But the game was never canned, it probably only started development around 2021 and they love taking their sweet ass time with AAA games nowadays.

>>529379365I'd much rather have a Zero remake than 2 or 3.
Death to remake culture. The games are easily accessible already, that effort should go towards making something new.

>>529426572You'd think 04 would've gotten preferential treatment.

>>529426572And it's not coming to PC, this shit sucks. Well I guess you could always emulate the switch version, might as well go the MAME route at that point though.
>>529398032I can understand taking your time with games, but 4 years of development, and not even a teaser trailer? Seems pretty ridiculous to me.

>>529466994That's really cool
>>529450417I don't mind remakes for games that could use remakes, games that were good in concept but had a lot of flaws that held them back from achieving something. Snake Eater, RE4, and Dead Space really don't fall into that category.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWe7V_4yvvA
>>529472690Yep, the problem of remake culture of today is that developers/publishers gravitate towards remaking the top draws - existing classics, instead of flawed games that never manage to tap into their full potential due to the technical limitations or bungled developments. Unfortunately that's how the industry works. People, from developers to customers, aren't willing to take that chance.
>>529473719The annoying thing comes in 2 forms: most aren't remakes, they're re-releases with updated graphics and a few tweaks. Or, they actually try to remake something and it sucks.
But I'm happy to see the bigger parts of the industry crash and burn. We need it.

ac6 is overrated

>>529646919> thrust over everythingIsn't that what the Germans think of when they designed Komet
>>529647278Nah. The Komet is very aerodynamically clean, which is a must if you're going to spend 3/4 of your flight time as a glider.
>>529646936>massive headache???? Explain
But 6 is crazy fun its 15 missions as crazy as 7's DLC every single time plus you have this wonderful fuck that grid square option called allied attack. Make sure you try out all the DLC skins each one changes the planes stats and ammo count. Each skin offers a different stat/count for the plane. The Idol skins offer an special bonus along with stat/ammo changes some of the bonuses are good some are for a challenge and the A-10 Idolmaster is the Sepia in A-10 form plus you have 60 FAEB to go wild with.
Yes go play 6 you'll see why we all speak highly of it.
>>529615550I'd say the Nosferatu is AC's most realistic/practical superplane design. It's got a sensible planform without the costly complexities of other strangereal designs. Most of it's unrealistic aspects lie in its weapons, I don't see things like the VLS Micro Missiles and Railguns ever being fitted to a real design, but with conventional weapons it would be perfectly reasonable.
Other planes could probably fly, but would be mostly impractical for the role.
>>529648924>When your PLS is flashing the low battery light
>>529615160But that rivalry is the entire reason they built a carrier its just the Germans couldn't into carriers as they were focused on a land war.

Reminder that if AC8 releases after April 24th 2026, more time would have passed between AC7 and AC8 than between ACAH and AC7.
Absolutely unnaceptable.
Goddamn I've been playing E33 and DS:2 recently, both games with incredible amount of work put into them and both started development after covid, there's no excuse.

>>529694395At least between AH and 7 there were still a couple titles.
>>529697210People like the AC formula, they don't have to make a game that's much more ambitious, and AC7 had a solid technical basis, just make an incremental upgrade in term of graphics and scale and release that within 5 years of AC7.

>>529647650The plot is impossible for my amerimutt brain to follow unless I look at a condensed summary.
Iโm always crashing, canโt turn unless Iโm 100% right side up. Canโt see the ground.
I have the hardest time completing timed missions on easy difficulty, always run out of time and fail.
Out of 16 ps1 games I emulate, it is the ONLY one that has issues on multiple emulators. Whether itโs my 4090 7800x3d windows machine, or my imac M1.
Resolution and scaling, vsync issues, audio delay etc. 21fps with a 4090 doesnโt make any sense.
Iโm using the project Nemo fan translation. As far as I know, that ROM is supposed to be normal. So itโs got to be something on my end that my dumbass canโt figure out.
Itโs so frustrating that I broke a controller.
I would happily pay AAA prices for a remake of 3, using the 7 engine.

That's why fans who becomes writers of most things, including long-running franchises, end up writing shallow stories. They only grab the handful of things they see on the surface and usually don't look at what inspired those things and the tone.
Star Wars and Star Trek are favorite examples of mine, it just turns into hollow nonsense following the stuff that's eye-catching in the movies, rather than looking at what inspired Lucas to do it. Almost every single Fallout fan mod with a story I've seen does the same problem, they really don't give a fuck about what inspired Fallout's unique feeling which is why they just shoehorn stuff in and it's like jamming mismatched puzzle pieces together.

As an aside, I know tons of people who grew up with certain franchises and made fanfics/concept art/related creative endeavours that fit well with the originals, and so I know for sure that some fans would definitely be able to make things that at least don't dilute the original vision. I think the biggest problem, at least for large IPs, is the suits trying to go for mass appeal/whatever appeals to shareholders in that moment.

>>529802547There is definitely a divide, Iโve seen a good number of fics or original animations on Youtube that do well capturing the spirit of something, and plenty that do not too. Transformers is an interesting example of the former; TF Oneโs director did pretty well and it turned out to be one of the best Transformers stories put to film, and I remember that Starscream fan OVA online really captured G1โs style very well. On the other hand, like I mentioned before, every Fallout fan story and especially mod Iโve seen has been poor; itโs often a very light grasp on the themes of Fallout while shoving everything Fallout-famous in there. There have to be Enclave and Super Mutants and references to the various wasteland characters even of it doesnโt make sense for them to be there.
>>529811783>itโs often a very light grasp on the themes of Fallout while shoving everything Fallout-famous in there. There have to be Enclave and Super Mutants and references to the various wasteland characters even of it doesnโt make sense for them to be there.Ready to be hired by Bethesda.
>>529737452Oh my lord I am such an idiot. I got it working now.
I didnโt realize the in game option menu had a reaction time setting. I set that to fast and set the deadzone to narrow. So much better now. And I checked 2 to see if it had the same settings, sure enough.
As far as bad framerate goes, Duckstation was somehow set to global vsync yes, optimal frame pacing yes, and a couple others. Thatโs why when I unchecked those options for 3 I didnโt get any performance benefit. My other ps1 games donโt seem to care but 3 in particular was at 20fps with less than 1% cpu and 2% gpu usage. Now it appears to be full speed.
Now I just have to find out why the resolution upscaling isnโt working in 3. Iโm stuck at 2.5k upscale. All the other games respond to the drop down menu but not 3.
>>529814271They donโt even need to make Fallout games anymore. Even though 76 was a legendary disaster general audience fans were dumb enough to play it as it was โfixedโ. So Bethesda gets their service-game they never should have.
>>529811783Neither I, but people in this general posted about this guy before, Its how I learned about his existence too, also Fallout has got to be one the saddest fanbases in recent memory, the fanbase is incredibly divided while the IP holders just warp its themes and canon even more with each succeding title or other forms of media.
>>529814796Good you figured it out
>other games respond to the drop down menu but not 3Most people set the upscale globally not per game. So why are you trying to do it per game? It won't improve anything this way.

>>529817081Iโm playing on a 4k oled tv.
Iโve always had the upscaling set to 4k but I noticed that the output resolution for 3 was not the same as the other games. So I started messing with it and realized 3 doesnโt respond to my resolution selection for some reason. It changes during cutscenes/menu/game engine like itโs supposed to. But even when I set it to native 240p it is still upscaled. Super weird.
>>529827495HOW FAR TO PARADISE?
>>529835386Ok upscale to 4K is reasonable then
Again I have no idea what you have done to cause this. It shouldn't do that you have something checked you shouldn't have checked
So post those screen shots so we can see what you have done.
Or just reset all your settings back to default set your global settings to what it says in the guide and don't mess with pergame settings. The AC games play just fine right out of the box all you really have to do now is set the upscale to what you want use vulkan for the renderer and check a couple of boxes and your set. Its very plug n play now but you seem to be messing with your settings like its several years ago and you had to do it to make games work now you really don't have to do that.
>>529830453Good old fashioned scope creep.
>we've scoped DAWN Aerowar up to something considerably OVA like>the final product will be 3 times longer than initially planned Keep in mind they chose to do this with a crew of only two 2D artists, and presumably only one 3D artist, none of whom are able to work full time on it, due to "resource constraints". At one point they had a third 2D artist, but as of the last update, which was over a year ago, they're back to only 2, so they definitely blew all the money already.
Also, twice now they've tried justifying the lack of communication by claiming that the project is so close to completion they might as well release it instead of posting updates. The first time they did that was two years ago, in their "final update before full release", and the second time wasn't even in an official update, but in a reply to a guy saying he regretted backing the project. That reply was 5 months ago and there's still no new trailer or anything to drum up interest prior to full release.

>>529842982>35K for an audio drama??They call it an audioplay, but it's actually an animated movie. I guess Jose Pavli, as a composer, and head of the project, wanted to put more emphasis on his own contribution. They use 3D CG full animation for the planes and other vehicles, and 2D animatics for the rest. That's probably the main reason it's taking so long: they have 2 dudes doing an "OVA like" amount of work. I wonder how much input they had into the decision to triple the original scope.

>>529888310I've found that in most large rooms with a BVR player, it just turns into score attack between myself and that player. Can I get points from farming them faster than they get points hitting nuggets that take RWR tones as a suggestion?
Most BVR players don't relocate after each shot, and some are very prone to crashing on purpose trying to deny me points (they still lose from doing this).

>>529888772Well, farming them usually works out in your favor because there isn't a low cost stealth plane for BVR, a YF-23 is always gonna be a points pinata.

>>529885426>>529889180If you properly use stealth and maintain distance with lvl 2 stealth parts you'll do just fine, but yeah its aids if you ever die because you spawn so close to the furball. It's perfect for pissing off sweatlords that get so enthralled with the furball and psm psls spam that they fold like lawn chairs when presented with someone not playing ring around the rosie though. It's extremely valuable in multi because you have someone actively keeping distance and applying heavy pressure to the furball. If you do get chased, you can drag to the furball and have your teammates help bail you out.
It'll get you straight up kicked and perma-targeted in public lobbies though, people hate when someone doesn't use psm spam for whatever reason, and when they get killed by hvaa they become fueled with rage.
>>529906056>It'll get you straight up kicked and perma-targeted in public lobbies though, people hate when someone doesn't use psm spam for whatever reason, and when they get killed by hvaa they become fueled with rage.PSM spam is bad but stealth BVRing isn't really above it either, you're just there to third party and if you're not focused you will rack up points, ruin everyone else's dogfights and not let anyone have fun.
It's not "for whatever reason", you are allowing yourself to be as annoying as possible to everyone else and you killing anyone will give off what you're doing when they inevitably see the killcam.
>>529881290because the f22 was better next question please
>>529906056>It'll get you straight up kicked and perma-targeted in public lobbieswhat doesn't? BVR players most of the time get kicked because people on public rooms have the short term memory of a bird and will just speedup back into the furball instead of hunting down the HVAA/LAAM platform sniping them.
Add to that that it goes against how most nuggets see the game, a dogfighting arcade, obviously they will get pissed if something they can't even see is instakilling them and disappearing from radar before they can pinpoint it's location.
>psm spammer focuses youeh who cares, at that point is 2 retards everyone else hates killing eachother so no one bothers to intervene.
>>529906056Hvaa takes no skill no effort just fire and forget maneuvers like a retard. Ofc I'm hunting you down and nobody will stop me because they want to enjoy dogfighting if you want to use hvaa spam go to campaign mode and take out npcs not people trying to test their limits and skills. Killing you faggots is cathartic for me and a form of therapy when I get 100k pts in a session 2 minutes before the timer because I've farmed you exclusively.
>>529907307>PSM spam is badSounds like you can't psm or use eml properly so you cry when people who can farm you to death. Try warthunder this game isn't for you.
>>529908014>instead of hunting down the HVAA/LAAM platform sniping themIf you aren't flying a setup exclusively made for running them down you will get farmed the first fight you see them. After that switch to max accel/speed and stealth detection and just go to town on them with hcaa, qaam or 8aam. Just focus them because a good hvaa setup will have 0% chance of shaking you so they're easy to permafarm.
>>529908983>Sounds like you can't psmI've fought vbchou, Nathan, Russian Shark, Ali,(and won too) I don't care who you think you are but I've been there and done that, I'm aware saying all this means nothing on 4chan but if you know anything about the people fight PSM then you should know these names. PSM fighting is inherently based on using an unintended mechanic in a game that has poor netcode, and it's no coincidence that every major PSM player was someone from a region where the gap in connection was always present.
Plus coming to /aceg/, which has always had an etiquette against PSM chaining and EML, is quite a choice.

>>529906056>people hate when someone doesn't use psm spam for whatever reason, and when they get killed by hvaa they become fueled with rageBecause they get killed by something they couldn't even see or fight back against, and doubly so if they were fighting someone else when your LAAM/HVAA struck. If you also got stars next to your name, that's all the incentive they need to hunt you down.
>>529908983PSMing is AC7's equivalent of wavedashing, and fuck that. because making an objective bug into the only way to fight in a game is boring. It's doubly horrible because of the game's netcode.

>>530226749You want to know what happened near the Elevator on June sixth? Fine. Sit down. Keep your medals in your pocket and your judgment to yourself. It wasnโt strategy. It wasnโt orders. It was payback โ pure and filthy. A debt written in fire back in โ95.
Osea called it peace. They bombed our cities, carved our land in half, then smiled for the cameras. Vincent Harling โ the great unifier โ stood there with that soft voice, preaching about a brighter future. You know what his โpeaceโ meant for me? Starving winters. A father who shot himself when his pension vanished. A flag we werenโt allowed to fly.
And still they acted surprised when Belka struck back.
So yeah. When I heard Harling was up there in Usea, holed up near the space elevator, riding a VIP extraction bird under IUN escort โ I knew what had to be done. I didnโt need a wingman. Didnโt want one. I stole an F-14D painted in Osean livery. Spoofed the IFF. A ghost, flying their colors. Fitting, no?
I launched at dawn, flying low over the sea. No prayers. Just anger. The wind screamed across the canopy like it remembered me. My heart didnโt race. It hadnโt in years. I wasnโt flying for glory. I was flying to make something stop.
Found the VTOL near the towerโs shadow. Two escorts, clean formation. Harlingโs ship steady. That tower โ that cursed monument โ reaching to heaven on a lie. I locked on. No warning. No words.
Shack.
The bomb dropped. The blossom bloomed. And Vincent Harling became smoke in the sky.
I didnโt wait. Pulled west. Vanished. No one chased me. No one even saw me. I was just another dot on the radar โ until I wasnโt.
You want to call it terrorism? Fine. Call it that. A war crime? Maybe. But I call it balance. He brought war wearing a doveโs skin. I gave him the ending he sold to us decades ago.
So do whatever you came here to do. Lock me up. Kill me. Forget me.
But remember this: Belka doesnโt forget.
And she sure as hell doesnโt forgive.

>>530233893This game + every other remotely accurate simulation of helicopters have taught me that helicopters are the machines of satan, and vortex ring state is God's punishment for trying to fly without using His bird designs as inspiration. Why does the machine designed to hover most at risk of dropping out of the sky why hovering? Divine judgement.
>>530239086>vrsinstead of dropping the collective to 0% and panicking, drop it to like 40% then aim for a <5 m/ps descent if you want to land
>>530248914Neat pic of the Washington Monument. How is it related to plens?
im gonna replay zero for the first time in years, probly two playthroughs
should i merc, soldier, knight? for hard and then Ace playthroughs
>>530229805You can also hold the triangle button (change target button) and the camera will remain focused on the target you have selected. (The yellow target)
This will make the target become identified faster than normal.

>>530238329Good shit, buddy, what were you flying?
Currently seething because whoever made this picture evidently never played Air Combat and AC2
>>530266497Joint Assault is 'insurance fraud' bad.
>>530266497also in addition to AC1-2 being "War rad" AC3 should actually be "Ghost in the Shell rad"
>>530266497AC7
>war bad if fought by machines war cool if fought by people
>>530266497You can take most, if not all of Japanese creative output as having a "war is bad" position by default.
It's more of a Western thing to obsess over whether or not something is anti-war. It's a waste of time and effort over a misguided question.
I would seethe more because the person who made this image is unable to see the "and..." or "but..." that each title has, regardless of the subjective quality or popularity of that title.
>>530248914> A giant pole pointing to the sky> What's this got to do with plensBro forgot Excalibur...
Remember when we were running an RPG for a mercenary squadron that faced down a big fuckoff ground-effect seaplane? Good times.
So... The only way for me to play H.A.W.X is to buy a console or torrent, yeah?
>>530294465Yeah, and it's not too difficult. You can even play co-op through Radmin, if memory serves.
>uexpected visitor on ace difficulty
>managed to down a good chunk of the enemies before the harriers show up
>mogged the mimics in five seconds flat
>clean sheet on all of the anti-ship reinforcements, no friendly boats lost
>all non-respawning enemies down and out
>A rank though
Probably 'cause I floundered hard on knocking out the SACS escorts in the last section of the mission or something, but jeez, I don't think I'll ever have a run as good as that.
Genuinely love replaying this mission over and over again though. Maybe the only full-on air superiority mission in the game other than Lighthouse, and I really hope that this sort of dense, "evolving" mission style carries on into AC8 - even if only in major missions or something.
>>529829505I'd love a book with dev interviews, concept art and design sketches. I'm assuming some of that stuff exists but only in JP.
>>530264336I used the Su-37 Terminator, it's probably the only reason I was able to dodge a gazillion missile locks when fighting the named squadrons
>>530295485Iโve never been able to s rank the dlc missions on hard or ace.
And ten million relief plan Iโve never been able to s rank on normal.
I was determined enough to get the platinum trophy though.
>>530316248TMRP is a pain to S rank because you need to balance clear time and mission score; most missions allow you to focus on one or the other without drastically compromising your chances of obtaining S rank.
Speed through the early phases of the mission as quickly as possible, but then milk Alicorn and its UAVs for points. Apparently ADMM can cheese every phase of the mission, especially if you abuse the checkpoint reload trick.

Making the new thread, buddies!
stop it pj, you aren't him
>>530283693I remember when we ran an alternate Zero timeline where I killed Excalibur, an aircraft carrier, and Cipher and Pixy.
