Shit, you have my exact kind of autism, and that's exactly it. You nailed it. It just doesn't sound good, so it doesn't feel good. I have the exact same issue with the Crossbow, I know it's supposed to be great and used it alright, but prefer the Eruptor because the Crossbow just does not have feedback at all to make it feel good to me to use.

Yeah, I ran into that in early Squids what with the lack of shit to need heavier anything to deal with, but now it just edges it out. I see MMG much more suggested now, just definitely better than HMG at any rate. Shame Siege Ready wouldn't help the reload.
Strategems were a big question of this too, didn't know to spam Napalm for the flame theme/synergize with the armor or what. Gas stuff for sure, Orbital Gas is nasty and low-cooldown. Add a guard dog and this'll be fun.
Also, general question for anyone, is the flame armor useful at all outside of niche applications? I was taking it religiously after being annoyed with not being able to use the strat flamethrower walking forward, but honestly now outside of Dickle it feels very, very niche like walking through my own Napalm. Like it's an intentional strategy you have to aim for that isn't particularly game-changing.
