I made a quick graphic to demonstrate what I mean. This works pretty well in my experience although I guess it's not 100%. A front guard could die, in theory, I've just never had it happen. But I usually have a giga Leif by now.
The cannon fodder reinforcing from the interior is not actually much of a threat, Macha or Brighton can keep them at bay.
But yeah, go ahead and try with what you got, might be able to make it work.
