We're only 250 posts in, it's fine. As you can see, I'm enjoying this thread a lot so far despite the premise.
I think a lot of the discourse surrounding the Legion largely stems between Obsidian being pressed both by the time constraints and the internal discussions on whether Legion should be a full-on villain of the game or not, while most players would see a joinable faction as either good or at least redeemable evil. Some Obsidian devs have probably regretted making it joinable altogether since it would make things more manageable scope-wise.

As someone who played it this year and even managed to do that stupid Vault Dweller fight on the arena while being woefully unprepared for it, the main issue with it is that it's fucking boring. It's not dreadfully boring enough to make you skip it, but it's just not a thing that makes you go "wow, i must go back to it!". I've never played Dark Alliance, but I sure do hope it's much better than this one. Maybe it also relies on having a friend to do stupid shit together, IDK. It was a painful 5/10. I wish my brain was more fried so I could fap to Dr. Vidya or Raider Matron or something.
