Senior backend SWE at FAANG. I construct and maintain massive data pipelines that determine the discounts you get when you buy something from us or a 3rd party who sells through us. Overall, it's a good job. I'm good at it, exceed expectations every quarter, have 200k in company stock, can easily put away like 100k a year into retirement and investments, live in a nice suburb, go on vacation abroad a month out of the year, etc. I wish the subject matter of my work were more interesting, but that's my only big gripe. I sometimes wonder why the people on /biz/ who spend 8 hours a day researching the next rugpull to go all in on don't just get a normal 9-to-5 and grind their way into a position like mine. I'll be a millionaire next year with long-term sustainable income, and all it took was getting a CS degree and solving the LC daily for a few months. For everybody on this site who gets lucky with a shitcoin, 50 will lose it all and be flipping burgers by the end of the week
