Humans inherently cluster in groups for protection and a sense of community and understand that being outnumbered is a threat on a deep instinctual level. Note that whites have some of the highest atomization in terms of family size or secularism and weakest ingroup identity in the US (along with basically no group esteem), and their suicide rates and overdose rates are far higher as a result.

This is what leftists don't really understand, or care about. Identity isn't just about making material privileges but security and a symbolic extended self that wards against existential dread. Most non-whites are just ethnocentrists in a temporarily weak position and pretending tribalism doesn't exist won't stop them from targeting you with violence or using nepotism to carve out exclusionary sub economies. Humiliation in general is much more high stakes than it seems even in banal social settings and since insulting whites is acceptable without real limit it's inevitable it'd be fetishized by masochists.
