>And so any talk of "Oh, see, it's this very new movement" is neither here nor there,
You're simply asserting that the idea is older without any reason to believe it is so. As far as anyone can tell this idea was made up out of whole cloth in the 1500s/1600s. And there's no reason to think the ancient Europeans of any stripe thought this was their story when we have plenty of evidence that they had an entirely different religion/history for themselves, which makes up what we call paganism today; Norse, Celtic, German, etc, all well attested to. This alternate history of CI relies on a ton of special pleading and rhetorical backflips, when the plain facts are that Europeans saw ourselves as coming from exclusively European backgrounds with exclusively European ideas until late into the Christian conversion; when the book of Semitic tales had become our main cultural narrative, we suddenly became convinced our history must've had something to do with the Middle East and Semites.
>the Identity message that I and 99% of other CI adherents today profess is explicitly pro-white and explicitly anti-ethnic-Jew,
Yes, because it's a small branch of British Israelism that disagreed on the Jewish question. Why be a side character in a story when you can steal the main character role? But it's always been the smaller cousin to British Israelism and a meaningless sect on the grand scale. For the vast bulk of Christians, their faith ties them emotionally to events in the Middle East and to the welfare of Jews. If they didn't have their faith, the idea of caring about any of this shit wouldn't even occur to 99% of us and the last 1% would be rightfully seen as idiots.
